Several of our clients are seeking strong DE/VA Underwriters to join thier teams.An Active VA LAPP/SAR is required for considerationThey are all seeking a collaborative underwriter who thrives on engaging with the origination team and is comfortable picking up the phone to ensure clear communication and accurate loan decisions.Responsibilities Evaluate mortgage loan applications to ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulationsAnalyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibilityAssess risk and provide thorough loan decisions with clear explanations and conditionsCollaborate closely with processors, loan officers, and stakeholders to resolve questions and expedite the processStay up-to-date with industry trends, guidelines, and best practicesQualifications Active DE and VA underwriting certification requiredMust have used DE and VA designation within the last 11 monthsMinimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experienceProven history of longevity in prior roles (average tenure, no frequent job changes)Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo productsExperience with Encompass strongly preferredExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environmentCompensation & Benefits (Varies depending upon client) Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 per yearFull benefits package including: (Varies depending upon client)Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance401(k)Paid vacation and sick timePlease note that National Mortgage Staffing does not determine the salary, requirements, or qualifications for this role.
