Staffmark has an exciting direct hire opportunity in Monroe, LA, for an experienced and passionate Executive Director. Our client is a mission-driven organization committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead quality lives. Salary: $100,000-$120,000/year

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Job Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for leading the agency in fulfilling its mission through strong organizational leadership, effective program administration, financial stewardship, staff empowerment, community engagement, and regulatory compliance. This role reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or human services settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and processes at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management, fundraising, and regulatory compliance.
  • Commitment to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • CPI training or willingness to complete required behavior intervention training.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive mission-aligned operations and programming.
  • Serve as the liaison between the board, staff, families, and the broader community.
  • Oversee all departments and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Maintain a high standard of service delivery through continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and planned giving.
  • Manage organizational budgets, revenue streams, and expenditures effectively.
  • Supervise and develop staff across multiple departments while promoting a culture of safety and respect.
  • Represent the organization in local, regional, and state advocacy efforts related to developmental disabilities.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and promote responsible use of agency technologies and reporting systems.
  • Occasionally assist with physical duties, household tasks, or behavioral interventions as needed .

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently; assist with lifting over 100 lbs when necessary.
  • Ability to handle physical behaviors using CPI techniques (training provided).
  • May require extended hours due to emergencies or staff shortages.
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on care and support activities when required .
  • Must be able to respond calmly to verbal or physical aggression and challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in emotionally demanding situations.
